Friday: His Excellency Joseph Kurtz, Archbishop of Louisville

On Friday's show, the guest is Archbishop Joseph Kurtz of Louisville, current President of the US Conference of Catholic Bishops, and we'll talk about the opportunities and challenges he sees facing American Catholics today, the impact of Pope Francis on the new evangelization, his long-time friendship with Bishop Ronald Gainer, and the future of our Lexington diocese as we await a new Bishop.

Question of the day: What do we need most from our American Bishops?

2 comments:

  1. Reverence for Christ in the Eucharist. We are not faithfully transmitting what we received from our parents. The churches in Florida are in ruin. Children are graduating from St. Helen's and they do not believe in the true presence of Christ in the Eucharist. How can they believe, when our sanctuary is a social hall. We cannot put the glory of man before the Glory of God. please help us

  2. We need bishops who will speak the truth plainly--but with love--and explain WHY. Too many Catholics today know doctrine, but couldn't explain why the Church holds that doctrine. Keep forming us! (And HI, Mike!)
